Park Avenue

Back at our usual park, Cody suddenly didn't mind being lifted out of the swing, because he realized this park, too, has...a teeter totter. Here's how it went:

Please Mommy! Teeter! Totter! Now please!

So I teetered with him and he was quite satisfied.


Until he found someone more fun.


Also, did you know that woodchips feel awesome? Now that he can walk (yes I still have to get him shoes, Mama) he is having fun with new textures. Grass is a particular favorite, but this one was interesting, too.

Sunday Cupcakes

We decided to have cupcakes on Sunday, too, since the Saturday ones were so good. We got Jetty a mini-cupcake at Buzz and it was a hit. Tasted even better in his special chair!

The Towering Inferno of Awesome

A pretty typical day for Cody:

LLB!

Yesterday after my nap AUNT LAUREN came over! And she was here again this morning! I showed her all my stuff!


But then after that I put on my cranky pants. Mom says it's too bad I was such a cranky bear all morning. It's true. I was. I didn't sleep so hot because it was, well, HOT. And also I think I might be growing. Anyway, I was doing my thing where I cry when Mommy walks away and Mommy said I stressed poor Aunt Cousin Lauren out. And something about her head being about to explode. (Mommy's head. Aunt Cousin Lauren's head was just beautiful as always.) But if I could only tell Aunt Cousin Lauren that after I got a good nap in, I was ALL FIXED! Hopefully she will come back again someday and I didn't scare her off with my cries of woe.

Shampoo Horns

I heard a rumor that some people (named Aunt Kelly) were sad they hadn't seen any of my shampoo horns lately. So here they are! You can be happy now!

Cupcakes!

Today we were walking in Old Town and we found a new place with cupcakes! We all felt vaguely guilty about going in because we love Buzz but I convinced Mom that I was hungry and that sugar would really make me feel better. And it DID!

Saturday, in the Park, Think it was the 25th of April

Today was SO beautiful! Spring! We went to a NEW park this afternoon with SO MANY SLIDES. I went down some with Mommy, but mostly I liked the swing.


And there was this really amazing thing called a teeter totter! Dad went on one side and Mommy and I on the other side. And we went up and down and it was awesome.

Daddy and I agreed there was an Aristotelian perfection about it. I don't know what that means exactly but I always agree with Dad and I think it meant that I could teeter totter any time I want to. Which is good.

Outside at Buzz

Well, the Buzz patio is open, and Sully got new little chairs -- just Cody's size!! This was incredibly exciting for many reasons...




Most of all because it gets you THAT much closer to the doggies! Griffin, one of Jetty's favorites, stopped by for a kiss.

B is for Ball

Yesterday Cody discovered something hilarious: throwing and catching his ball. Or, I should say, "throwing" and "catching." We went outside and would "throw" the ball at Mommy, who would fall over. And then I would throw the ball to Cody and he would "catch" it and scream laughing as it bounced off him and down to his feet. We did this over and over. And over. And over.


You can't quite capture the hilarity here but it was so funny to see him go batty for the ball.

Well, Cody is walking. (And, Kelly, clearly saying "MAGNET" whenever he goes over to the fridge and plays with your present!!)


Took his first real real steps at Buzz the other day. I burst into tears. And has not wanted to stop since. He's still doing a lot of cruising along furniture and walls, or using our hands, but he wants to be up and on his feet. He has discovered that there is usually STUFF on the kitchen table, the countertops, the bathroom vanity...yikes. And he has also discovered how COOL it is to walk on grass!! We had a great half hour outside just walking around in circles as he giggled at the tickly grass on his feet.


I love working part-time. I love being his mama.
