Simple Gifts

Here is some of what I have been doing lately. This picture is of my new favorite: the garbage truck! It comes every Tuesday and Friday and I wait for it and run to the window and usually I can get mom to run down 4 flights of stairs with me so I can go wave to the man who drives the truck. When I wave he honks!

The garbage truck is stinky and loud and awesome. I love it!

Also, my new favorite game is Slam Peekaboo. Can you guess how it works?

I slam the door, then I open it, then I giggle!

This is me helping Mommy with her iced tea at Buzz. I am really helpful when it comes to Mommy's drinks.

I'm also helpful about other things. Like organizing the cabinet with all the tupperware. What you do is take everything out, and put it all over the floor. Sometimes you slip on lids. And then you bang them on the floor, and then you smile at Mommy and go play in another room!

Oh! Also, I am getting SO good at climbing! I'm way faster than my Pop-Pop getting up the stairs to my house. Mom says I'm getting too good. See what I can do?

FBI Family Day 2009

Today I went to FBI!
It was Family Day, and I'm Mommy's family, so I got to go. Patches came too! Mom said he could just in case I got overwhelmed and I needed my buddy. First of all I went right up to Director Mueller's office to say hi. He hasn't seen me in awhile and I wanted to show him how I walk. I quacked a little bit for him and then I decided to look through his inbox. I'm not sure why Mommy put me back in my stroller then. Oh well. He wasn't that interesting to me anyway. He didn't really have any good toys in his office. Not that I could reach anyway and Mom said NO CLIMBING! in her really serious voice.

What WAS interesting was this crazy person called a clown. I didn't know what to think. I followed him around for a while, but every time he came close to me I decided to go hang out with mom.

Then I met Mom's other boss. He's not as important as the Director though. But I really liked him because he gave me a gold badge that says JUNIOR SPECIAL AGENT. It is a sticker! I am going to wear it every day. He said I was scrumptious and picked me and Patches up for a cuddle.

Then I pooped. Just as this picture was being snapped actually. Mom was really really red.

But the best part of all was I got to see Power, my favorite bombdoggie! Mom says he has a super sniffer. Also he's really sweet and gentle and I accidentally stepped on his tail and he didn't even mind. I love Power. He is my best dog friend.

Me and my Shadow

Strolling down the avenue.

And sacking out on the floor!

Cub in a Tub

Tonight, Mom said my feet were super stinky. So stinky that it didn't seem right someone so little could have such stinky feet. She went in the closet and found this awesome tub that is just for feet! I sat on my stool and she showed me how to soak them!

It was pretty ok. But I decided to kick it up a notch when Mommy wasn't looking...

I got ALL THE WAY in! In my clothes! It was AWESOME!

I ♥ My Granny

You won't believe it!! On Friday night, I was all clean and all ready for bed, and then all of a sudden I heard a knock on the door...and it was my GRANNY!

I flew into her arms and Patches and I gave her SUCH a big hug. She said it was worth the traffic. And then Mom and Dad went out and Granny and I were supposed to go to bed, but we didn't. We stayed up and played and rocked. Don't tell Mom though.

Anyway, Granny and I had the best time. We talked and talked.

We played and played.

We watched puppies getting haircuts! We just had the best time. I miss my Granny!! Come back soon!

Hangin' with Aunt Hannah

Cody got a huge treat on Tuesday when Aunt Hannah showed up, in the middle of the day! With a Jetty-sized soccer ball! We went to the park, had cupcakes at Buzz, showed Hannah every single toy, and played in the fort. All in all, a great visit.

Train HD!

This goes on too long, but only because I haven't figured out how to use the new editing suite for the HD camera. That said, behold Cody's first train ride in Glorious High-Definition!

Barista Last

Today, one of Cody's dreams came true. He got to go behind the counter at Buzz. He went to give his Sully a big hug, and just decided to crawl over the counter and into her arms. YESSSSS!

Next stop: pushing the buttons on the espresso machine!

12:10 to Fairfax

This weekend saw our first pilgrimage to Burke Lake Park, home of the famous Burke Lake Park Train. Which is, as you can see, a real, genuine, train:

At first, he was a little wary.

But after we boarded, he was pretty into it.

The other thing the park has is a carousel. Cody was less thrilled by this.

Note the death grip he has on the pole. The ride had not yet started.

Scenes from the Weekend

Picking flowers (and later munching on them)...

Riding the horse...

Pushing the mower (that one's for you, Pop Pop!)...

Removing the engine and changing the oil in the car (Tom Wenzel!)...

Teaching Dad about the bumper...

Having a cupcake...

Playing in his favorite pile of dirt...

Tasting the grass...

Market Share

Today Mommy and I went to the market, and I got so hungry looking at all the yummy things that I ate my way through my entire lunch box while I rode around in the cart. Mommy and I were planning a picnic after shopping but I had my picnic DURING shopping! It was awesome! Once I ate all my food, I convinced Mommy to buy what she termed "ridiculously expensive" cookies. They were in French -- or maybe Italian -- and soooooo yummy! I liked them so much Mommy just let me sit in the cart and have them until my tummy was full. Don't worry, I shared them with her!

Yay for cookies!

Basil Seal Rides Again

Yesterday I helped Mommy unpack the groceries! Patches helped too. Basil smells so good!!!

A Very Splashy Morning

In search of something to keep Cody from trying to open the toilet while I'm trying to get dressed, we decided to bring the stool in and pile the ducks in the sink. Big hit!

It turns out, perhaps unsurprisingly, that Jetty finds it more satisfying to splash the water as high and hard as possible, getting as wet as possible, than to help the duckies swim. But no matter, it keeps him busy. And as he pointed out, he'd have to get out of those jammies anyway so they could go in the wash -- so why not help me start the washing part? Very thoughtful child.

So after we dried off and got dressed, we went over to get our coffee. As usual, we stopped to smell the grass, and giggle at how it tickles your nose...

And then came the great discovery: after it rains, the little Jetty-sized tables are covered with water. And if you splash them...

You get soaked! Again!

CJP often likes to pretend he's in jail, btw.

Kelly, puddle-stomping is clearly just around the corner. : )
