Easy Peasy

Remember this?

Just Overheard

I'm working on my freelance project and listening to the chatter in the kitchen, as the boys discuss various aspects of their upcoming camping trip:

CJP: "...so if you are walking along be VERY AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS and if you happen to see a snake with yellow dots do NOT go near it. Try to back away and if possible, just get in your car to drive to where you're going. Because grass pythons eat animals; one time I saw one eat a FOX for real [he didn't] so you've GOT TO PAY ATTENTION and have situational awareness...oh Daddy, are those zucchini for Mommy's pizza? I do not particularly care for zucchini...I'm not saying I hate them, because that would be rude, and that's a strong word, but I don't care for them...Daddy, do you remember the copperhead snake we saw at the bookstore? I did not get it for the reason that it would really bother my other stuffies and FIGHT them. Shannon the Snake does not do that; she's amazing and so kind. Hiss hiss!"

Thanks to REI, they now have matching camping chairs. Even I couldn't get my eyes to roll at this one. It's pretty cute.

Am I a lucky woman, or what?

Happy Half-Birthday, Little Owl!

This was supposed to have been posted yesterday...the day kind of exploded. In fairness, my days have been starting 3 hours earlier the past few days. Which means at 2:00 a.m. So, it's entirely possible I'm typing this in gibberish. Jibberish? I think it's with a G. Anyway.

Emma is 6 months old today! It's hard to believe she's already sitting, rolling, and just about crawling. I feel like she was just put in my arms at the hospital. Emma, darling, we are so grateful to have you in our family. And it's now totally clear that you, too, have Mary Byrnes's eyes...and it is incredibly special to me that you will always turn half of your next age on Granny Byrnes's birthday. Happy birthday, Granny.

We love you! And we think it's possible E has your temperament. Which would be...awesome.

Possible Change of Address

As CTO I've been pondering moving the blog out of Blogger and onto Wordpress. I've got it basically set up now and am in the process of sending out invitations to the new address, which will be:

codycordyemma.wordpress.com

The blog will still be locked, so you'll need an invitation email to get in. If you don't get one from me shortly, just email me and I'll get one out to you.

I Can't Decide, Either

Baptismal Beauty

It only took me two months to get photos of her in her baptism gown -- just before she outgrew it. I dare you to try to decide which is cuter.

She's A Lady

She isn't really a girly-girl, is she?

"Was this the face that [sank] a thousand ships," or what?

How much do I have to pay you to never make that face again?

 (He's so handsome!)

Yes. That's mud. And this is AFTER I HOSED THEM DOWN.
I'd tell you the story, but I can't bear to relive it. Suffice it to say there is going to be crime scene tape and re-seeding involved.

She cleans up pretty nice, though.

Creepy Crawler

When Cody was little, I found I could not wait for him to hit every milestone and do all the cool stuff he was learning to do. When Cordelia came along, I was excited, but wistful--and also a bit nervous about having two small, mobile humans. Now? Honestly I'd be fine if she never moved on her own. It's so much easier when they're immobile. Emma, however, doesn't seem to agree. We came into her room the other day to find her on all fours in the crib, rocking. We turned to one another in horror. And here she is, not 48 hours later...

The smile is to die for, isn't it? : ) But this crawling just does not work for me. Also, she was born, like, five minutes ago, so I can't even make sense of this.

Does. Not. Compute!

Hand in Hand

It doesn't happen often. But when it does, it's gold.

Baptismal Beauties

So I finally had time...two months later...to take E's official baptism photo. I could barely get the dress on. But how cute is she? And...her sister? :)

Here's CML:

Best. Sound. Ever.

and even more awesome....

A Walk in the Rain

It's been so rainy this week, but the other day Cordelia, Emma, and I braved the drops with our umbrellas to stroll around and get some air. How cute is she?

Sibling Revelry

Yesterday at the park, between thunderstorms...

"This is pretty good," thinks E.E.L.
 "This is better!"

"Wow. I love them...but they're really loud and raucous."

 "Ok...this is kind of nice!"
 "Aw...I just love them!"

I hope you enjoy the ones on the quilt. To get them, I climbed up on the bed, forgetting the ceiling fan was...on. Emma's face in the last photo might have something to do with her mother almost decapitating herself.
