I have so, so much to catch up on, but chaos has reigned and sleep has been light, so I'll do it piecemeal, starting with the best part of my day. Well, one of the best parts. (It's tied with taking Cody shopping for a new bike and sucking down a mojito with an infant on my boob while at the Cheesecake Factory. Why yes, I do lead a glamourous life!)
For months now, Cody has been eagerly anticipating being able to do the "birthday walk," the meaning of which has eluded us, despite his efforts to explain. When pressed for details, he'd say something like, "Well, you hold the earth, and you walk around the months of the year and the sun is in the middle, and then all your years go by, and then everyone sings!"
You can see why we might be confused. But now that we've seen it with our own eyes, it turns out he explained it exactly right. The birthday boy or girl puts the sun in the center of the circle, then has to arrange the months of the year in order, starting with the current month.
Then he or she holds the earth and rotates, once around for each year, while Ms. Leavesley narrates. (The best, and most mortifying, parts are when Cordelia interrupts her and tries--really hard--to make this morph into her own birthday walk.) So, voila!

SO CUTE! Love the birthday walk. Cordelia cannot wait to be in preschool, I bet. :)
