Sick Day

Poor Cody has his first cold. He's been sneezing, snuffling, shrieking, coughing, and aching. Just in time for his baptism!! And we thought getting water poured over his head would be the biggest obstacle we'd face. He's a snotmonster and has barely been able to sleep. But this morning, his doctor let him have baby Tylenol drops, which seem to be sort of like Baby Percocet. He finally passed out -- for a little while. Anyway, no reason for this post except that he wants enormous sympathy for his suffering, and so decided his cold must be blogged.

Also, we joke about how alike JVL and Cody look, but this is kind of creepy. They even sleep alike. : )

Cheesesteak of Suffering

Why do you look so forlorn, baby? What's that you say? Philadelphia teams have gone 100 consecutive seasons without a championship? (Insert evil diabolical mean-spirited Yankee fan laugh here.)

"You're My Boy, Blue!"

When Irish Eyes are Smiling

Ok, well, he WAS smiling, but it's hard to get the camera out in time to capture them. : ) And yes, he has now totally outgrown this. Sorry Mom!

Life is Tough

Toe-tally Irresistable

Napster

This guy is either awake all day, or is passed out all day. So far, not a lot of in-between. I mean Cody, not JVL.

Memorial Day Picnic

We had our first family picnic down by Ford's Landing, our favorite place in Old Town. It was a picture perfect day! After we ate CJP and Mom both fell asleep on JVL.

Eskimo What?

Let's just hope he doesn't get either one of our noses.

Not a hat person, maybe.

No no no no no...not the hat! Not the hat! NOOOO, not the bib too!!

Sigh.

So Big!

A Happy Happy Morning

Sacked Out With Dad

Couldn't be cuter if they tried.

Next Generation of Neocons

We had a great lunch and walk with Vic, Kate, and little Michael this afternoon. The boys are about 7 weeks apart and we can already tell they are going to be trouble together in the years to come. Though you wouldn't know it from Cody, who slept the entire time we were out.

Cody Last is bound to be a great shortstop, right?

That's JVL's reasoning, anyway. It's a great name. : )

SMILES!

Cody has started smiling, and it is the cutest thing ever. Makes me forget the sleep-deprived nights of the last 6 weeks. Well. Not forget, but not mind so much anyway. :)

Here he is, grinning and giggling at Tigger during his morning "Tigger Time."

This one's just plain cute.

Uncle John!

Still making the rounds of family! Cody was thrilled to meet his Uncle John, who flew in from Phoenix! He's a natural. Cody liked him immensely and loved snoozing on his lap and hearing him play the guitar. Though not at the same time. : )

Visiting the Fosters

Here's Cody with Godbrother James and Zia Stefania...

And here we are snuggled up. I fell asleep and James cuddled with Cody and I until I woke up a little while later. Thank goodness for old friends. You can fall asleep on their couch in the middle of a visit and no one gets offended, they just take your picture. : )

Weekend of Godbrothers

Cody had quite the weekend, getting to meet 2 of his 3 Godbrothers. Here he is with Dylan (and Uncle Dave) ...

And here's the peanut under the adorable blanket they gave him!

Meeting Uncle Chris

Cody had the joy of meeting JVL's best friend since childhood and his fabulous wife Sherri. They gave him the cutest puppy, talked about the Phillies, and promised to do their best to inculcate a love of all things NYC. (PS -- we so appreciate them trekking in from New York to meet the little guy!!)

Here's the puppy...

...and check out the fat rolls!!

P.S. Chris -- we named the puppy "Prince" for sentimental reasons... : )

First Mother's Day

Best part: the afternoon nap! : )

Who is more passed out?

That whole, "You sleep when the baby sleeps!" is more or less a crock. If you did that every time, you'd have no food, no clean laundry, and your house would look like a bomb had exploded inside it 24/7 as opposed to about 19/7. Still, it's awfully nice when it does happen.

Yeah Casey, I'm cute. I can't help it.

Cody is almost done making the rounds of family and friends. He's met LOTS of doting women. Here's my dear friend Casey, who was so charmed by Cody that she willingly crossed over the DC border into the suburbia of Virginia. And she liked him so much it might even happen again. He liked her, too...they ogled each other for hours. : )

Eye of the Tiger

Pick a morning, any morning, right around 9:00, and this is what you'll see. Cody only has eyes for Tigger for about 30 minutes.

Chick Magnet

Such a handsome little dude
