Crocodile Dundee

Today was a busy day. We went to story hour at Barnes & Noble, which is really quite funny. It starts out with a bunch of kids and their moms sitting quietly in a semicircle. The moment the first book starts, things begin to devolve. Fifteen minutes later, there are maybe 2 kids sitting there, and the rest are just...somewhere else, with their moms chasing behind. I was one of those moms, of course. Cody had his eye on an Old Town Mom's crocodile purse, and managed to chew vigorously on the strap before I could get to him. She was displeased. Oh well. That's what you get for killing crocodiles.

Then he explored pretty much every shelf in the kids section, pulling himself up, and then pulling books off. The best was watching him try to reconcile standing up with the spinny shelves -- the ones that display the books and bookmarks that turn around as you browse. He would get up, start turning it, lean in, and then...crash. He had a goose-egg at the end, but thought the whole thing was quite amusing.

I thought he'd be tired when we got home, but no. He played hard, and managed to achieve his personal goal of removing every single toy from his toybox.

After which...

Didn't seem to bother him a bit that his leg was stuck in the bars. That's probably because he didn't move for two straight hours. Yep. Heaven.

P.S. Just for perspective, this was Cody exactly 9 months ago. OMG.

So freaking precious.

And I, of course, appreciated the crocodile comment. After all, they are endangered. And badass. :)
