Wind! Swings! Buzz! Spring!

Today is so springy! And I am starting to feel better! And there was so much wind! And I didn't have to wear socks! And I got to go to Buzz!

And then we saw trains! And went on the swings! And did I mention I drank some of Mom's sugary iced tea at Buzz? Wheeeeeeee!!!!

P.S. This is Mom here. Is it me, or did Cody inherit my lack of ankles? My cankles, I should say. I will be so sad if he got my legs instead of JVL's. Please God, don't let him have inherited the cursed legs.

Doggies! Doggies! Woof woof! Woof woof!

Yes, Kelly, that headline was for you. Cody lunched outside today, and along came a dog named Bisous. Or Bijoux. Or something haughty. Anyway, Cody LOVED HIM. We had to keep saying "GENTLE, Cody!" but he was just delirious with joy at having the pup come share his peas.

YAY! Clap clap. And so it went. :)

So Cute I Can't Think of a Good Headline

Two Bears Kissing

That's Why God Invented Bare Feet

Took about 10 seconds to get them off this morning.

Little Snoozer

Just a few cute ones of the Codester and his blankie...wait! Is that his blankie? Aha...it's not quite. But thanks to sweet cousin Karen, we have a spare. CJP doesn't seem to care that it's not exactly the same, as long as he can stick his fingers through the holes.

And this, from an impromptu (and quite rare, hence the camera) nap in the stroller. He feel asleep in line at a cafe when I was ordering extra coffee to stay awake. I'd say life is not fair, but then again, I got to stare at this sweet face for the next half hour while I chugged my coffee. So, probably more than fair, really.

Carting Cody Around

Yesterday it rained. And rained. And rained some more. Having worn out our welcome at Buzz (there's only so much coffee you can drink, believe it or not) after CJP's afternoon nap we took a field trip to the grocery store, where we explored every aisle, practiced cart racing (big giggles, but blurry pictures) and ate our way through all the snacks we brought. It wasn't quite as fun as going to PetSmart, but probably more productive.

Time Magazine's Person Of the Year

This is Cody's favorite page of the "B is for Bear" book. Because "Y is for YOU" has a star-shaped mirror, in which this gorgeous babe appears.

And you can kiss him as you ooh and aah at his cuteness.

Visiting Monika, Max, and Mike

Last week we visited Cody's friends Monika and little Max, and Kate and little Mike came along. Fun was had by all. Max is just 4 months old, and he and Monika have some awesome toys.

Cody enjoyed pushing Max around in his chair, like he was a walker.

This was Cody's favorite. Other toes taste good too!

The Swing is King

Chowing Down

You'll be glad to know Jetty has been hard at work trying to put back the 2 pounds he lost when he was sick. He has been eating everything that's not nailed down -- and some things that are. Peas, carrots, corn, chicken, avocado, cheese, peaches, yogurt...he even ate an entire sausage link the other day, and all the sausage off my pizza. He eats approximately 1 million cheerios per day, and loves, loves, loves bread cut up into little pieces. He goes straight for the carbs. His mama's son, clearly.

When we visited Christiane and her two beautiful kids last week, Kate and little Mike came too, and brought crackers. Which Cody really, really wanted.

But the best was when we ate lunch at Barnes & Noble Friday, and his stomach was so big that as he stretched out after his meal, he BROKE the seatbelt. I don't mean the buckle. I mean the actual belt.

That. Just. Happened.

It seems about a hundred years ago that he took his first bite of rice cereal...

...and was decidedly ambivalent about it.

Dinner with the Ducks

Last night, Cody had dinner with a couple of ducks. And when I say "had dinner with," I mean that the two ducks came over, plopped themselves down next to CJP, and shared his bread and Cheerios.

I'm not sure who was most excited. Possibly me.

In the Sandbox

Yesterday we went to the park and it was warm so I took off my socks! And then I saw all these kids my size in this big box with the beach INSIDE it! So I grunted like a caveman and flapped my arms and Mommy understood what I was saying and brought me over and put me on the beach! In the box! I wasn't sure about it. My feet were pretty cold and Mom said the other Moms were giving her skeptical looks because all THEIR kids had real shoes on.

But I liked how it felt on my toes and I brought SO MUCH home with me! And there are shovels and things to chew!

Hugga-Hugga Choo Choo!!!

This is so awesome! Mom opened the box of diapers and let me play in it! I couldn't really go anywhere though. Hmm.

That's ok, it's funny just to be IN here! And Mommy pushed me all around the house like I was in a TRAIN!

Then Mom said she needed to corral me so I wouldn't get into the silverware again. But she let me stay close to watch. I bet if I just play it really cool she won't notice that I'm going to be the Hulk and take this apart.

YESSS! Did it. Awesome. Mommy says I am good at getting things off track. But in a good way. Usually.

The Truth About Boys and Girls

This is one of Jetty's little girlfriends at Buzz. The only way to really appreciate these is to look at them as time lapse, because this was all over the course of 15 minutes or so. During which Cody crawled, pushed chairs, pulled out the toys, tasted many of them, fell down repeatedly, and tried to get into the glass dessert case. All the while, she...sat. Quietly. Restfully. A little curiously, as if she were thinking, "What's with this kid? Why doesn't he ever seem to want to stop moving?" She didn't move, just watched. What must that be like?

It was only when he pulled a Sylvia Plath that she got interested.
