It's been something of a rough couple weeks. I've had to work almost every day, and Cody has been concurrently going through a certain phase. Of the throwing kind. As in, throwing food. Throwing toys. Throwing...well...Patches. And blankie. Which resulted in a night without Patches and blankie, which was quite possibly the longest night of our lives. Patches has been more or less safe ever since, though, so all the heartbreak of setting boundaries seems to have been sort of worth it. But aside from moments when Cody's inner monster arises, he's done some awfully cute stuff.

There will be more to come, but this is my favorite from yesterday. As regular readers know, Cody grew immensely fond of my Mary statue -- loved her so vigorously so that he accidentally broke her right hand off. So she became his, and I got another one, which I keep in the kitchen window. (If you look closely, you'll notice she, too, is missing her right hand. Sigh.)

Anyway, Cody seems to think that Mary either lives "IN CHUCH!" or "IN WINDOO!" Because he took "his" Mary and a few minutes later, here's what I saw.

I mean, come on. :) (That's one of his new Craigslist acquisitions. 20 bucks!)

Cody certainly loves his Mary, and at least is not throwing her. Yet. Sadly, he has not taken quite so much care with one of his pocket pals. Who will now be named Sylvia.

Robbie -- when we asked Cody who made him his Pocket Pal he shouted at the top of his lungs, "ROBBIE! ROBBIE!" : )
