The Dyson

For those of you who don't know, Cody has always had a fascination with vacuums. And asked Santa for a Dyson for Christmas. Well, Santa delivered. He left it all the way behind the tree, so Cody didn't notice until well after we had done presents. He looked a little worried the whole time...even when playing with his beloved mixer (also compliments of S. Claus, The North Pole).

His elation upon realizing that Santa had not forgotten him and that there was Something Huge Back There was palpable. His whole little body vibrated. His joy was complete. As was ours. Isn't that strange? I mean, it's an orange vacuum. And yet.

He set to work immediately, and the two haven't been parted much since. He vacuums probably 10-12 times a day. My floors have never been so clean, and he assured me, "Mommy, you will never, ever, ever have to vacuum again! From now on Dyson and I will do it!"

He's an odd, dear child.

Dyson, by the way, now sleeps next to Cody's bed. "So he doesn't get wonewy!"

Oh Cody .... wait until Aunt Hannah and Grandma Robbie see this. Thank you, Santa, for the Dyson and for a one of a kind Christmas morning!

Oh. My. Gosh. The faraway look in his eyes is... priceless! And odd, and dear. :)
