Today was a day where Cordelia made my heart melt. In part because she spiked an extremely high fever (almost 104) -- we took her to evening hours at the doctor and it turns out she has strep and a double ear infection. She was at Cody's (and now her!) school for camp last week...one week, and already the dreaded preschool gunk claimed her. So she is sad, pitiful, and cuddly.
But this morning, before things got so rough, she told me, "Mommy? Someday I am going to marry Emma." I said, "You are! How wonderful." "Yes," she replied. "Because Emma is my best friend." Whereupon I got tears in my eyes. And then told her all about how having a best friend who is also your little sister is -- take it from me -- one of life's greatest gifts.
