Baseball Night in America

I took Cody and Cordelia to the ballpark last night and it was pretty special. Former P-Nats great Mike Cameron (one of only 17 players to hit four home runs in a single game) was on hand to have his number retired. He couldn't have been nicer. Late in the game, Cameron came walking through the park by our section and Cody jumped up, ran over to him, and they fist-bumped. No picture, sadly.

The P-Nats won, 5-0. It was Uncle Slam's birthday. And, amazingly enough, both C&C posted a complete game. This was Big Red in the fifth, going strong:

But midway through the 8th, she started to run out of gas:

Even so, she rallied to finish off the game. Here she is celebrating by the banner from last year's pennant (Cody was off in the bathroom):

The tradition continues! You're lucky to have baseball so close by. Summer memories!
