The Other John Paul the Great

I'm hopelessly overdue. Sorry, Mom.

But real quick: both kids are now in Religious Education on Tuesdays (we used to call it CCD). Cody will be making his first Communion on April 30!

This little one...

…has become THIS one. It's hard to understand.
As we prepare for All Saints Day, his class has been talking about the significance of names and saints. While I gave the girls a bath tonight, he was downstairs doing his RE homework. Here's what I found.

"Cody is my godmother's maiden name. Saint John Paul II is a very special saint to my parents. They asked for his prayers for me to born safely."
"He was a great and holy man. He was brilliant, kind, and generous. He loved the church and led it for 26 years. He also loved Mary deeply." And he taped his favorite, well-worn postcard to bring to show his class.

I just love him, and can't help but think that Saint John Paul the Great is looking down with those twinkling eyes and a big smile.

For sure, he is. This is precious. Keep it forever.

Also, can I just say that he does not write like a 7-year-old. His spelling is perfect, and his handwriting is more legible than mine!
