Jaws Junior

Those of you who are devoted followers will recall that we've had a bit of a problem with Cordelia biting over the last year. Not playful nibbles, mind you. The break-the-skin-and-leave-marks kind of biting, with her brother being the most frequent victim. It hasn't happened  too often (nor recently, really) but it's vicious. Made worse by the fact that she seemed to enjoy it. I thought we'd broken her of it, but now I'm not so sure. The other night, she chose this cool pop-up "Under the Sea" book at bedtime. Cody always loved this one because there is a big turtle (the original Tippy) whose fins flap when you turn the page. He is devoted to this page. As it turns out, she has her own favorite page: the one where a giant, tooth-bearing shark pops out at you, glaring evilly while all the other gentle sea creatures cower in fear (poor octopus).

Cody does not particularly enjoy this page. He prefers to skip to Tippy (on the next page) and say sweet things to her. His sister, meanwhile, has developed a little relationship with the shark. One in which she kisses him fondly when he opens his jaws.
They are kindred spirits.

You should show Cordelia the part of "Finding Nemo" where the sharks declare that "Fish are friends, not food!" People are friends, not food!
