Today So Far (or, how is it ONLY 2 p.m.?)

We have had a couple of September-like mornings this week -- bliss! Cordelia never passes up an opportunity to wear her favorite butterfly sweatshirt, which we got for a hot $3 at a consignment sale and which she says she will wear, along with a pair of sparkly hand-me-down shoes that are now a size too small, "until I am 100!"

This is them creating "blockage" for E2 and I -- human stop signs.

After this it was finally naptime for little Emma. C&C played in their playhouse and I weeded. Then, time for moms group at SEAS. All the kids decided to make a human rocket ship.
Yes of course, a child got hit in the face with a chair leg and bled (lip wound). And yes of course, that child was mine. Looking at her face and bruised legs it's actually kind of surprising no one has called the cops.
Cody and his pal Kevin (also 5) were the co-pilot astronauts. Cordelia looks a little dubious about liftoff.
The best was the countdown -- the kids all kind of did their own version of counting backward from 10, depending on their ages. : ) Cordelia tried to correct them but to no avail.
Meanwhile ,on the other side of the room, Emma spent her time crawling from wall to wall in about 10 seconds and then pulling herself up to a standing position on anything--or anyone--that would support her. And then munched on a book.

GOSH that's a cute munchkin. All of them, but specifically the last picture there. :)
