Once we got out it only took him about 15 minutes before he caught a wave and then--to my total surprise--jumped up on the board and surfed it into the beach, standing. No help from me. It was one of the proudest moments I've ever had with him and I'm a little heartbroken that I don't have pictures or video for you. Because it was amazing. He's totally got it. By next summer, standing up on the board will be second nature to him, I think.

All in all, a wonderful weekend.

He is all boy, isn't he? I remember his first time in EI, sprawled on a little inflatable surfboard in the living room, trying to hold his head up. Amazing.
Aw man, I wish I was a guy so I could come to Guys Weekend!
